The band program is in need of a new sound mixer and cart that will allow us to connect wirelessly. Our goal is to raise at least $10K between two fundraisers. We have set a goal for each student to help raise $150 each. Every student who secures at least $50 in donations will be included in our prize drawings throughout the day of the Rock-A-Thon.
1) 2nd Annual RHS Band Rock-A-Thon
Saturday, December 7th from 11:30am-11:30pm in the band room. All band and guard students are encouraged to attend. Bring your favorite rocking chair and settle in for a "rocking" marathon. Students will secure pledges for every hour they rock. e.g. a pledge of $2 an hour and 12 hours = $24 donation. We will have games, food and lots of fun. Plan to join for the day!
2) DOUBLE GOOD POPCORN sale December 4th-8th- This is an easy, online popcorn sale. You share the link with friends, neighbors and family. The band will receive 50% of all sales during the 4 day window. Popcorn ships direct to the buyer. All we need to do is promote it. More details with instructions will be shared next week.
DECK THE SQUARE - BAND TREE
The Roswell Band will host a tree for the annual Roswell Deck The Square Tree. The theme for the tree will follow our Marching Band Show "City Nights". We need a few creative people to help with decorations. If you would like to contribute, please email Lori Roselli @ lbroselli@yahoo.com. Decorations need to be ready by Wednesday, December 4th. We will be decorating the tree that afternoon. We would love to have band members come help decorate the tree!
HORNETS OUTSIDE THE HIVE
Congratulations to Ian Summers and Gus Vincent for passing the first round for the Georgia Govenor’s Honor Program! This program is a residential summer program for skilled, knowledgeable, and talented high school sophomores and juniors. GHP offers instruction that is significantly different from the typical high school classroom and is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
